High school sports round-up
It was a big week for the Wareham girls varsity basketball team. The ladies finished the regular season with a victory over Greater New Bedford Regional VocTech at Wareham on Monday, 87-64.
The win brought their record to an exceptional 20-1 (16-1 SCC) for the regular season. Ally Watkins set a school career rebounding record of 786 during that game, surpassing her older sister Lindsay, who held the mark with 773. Watkins also scored the 1,000th point of her Wareham High School career during Friday night's game against Case High School. The ladies beat Case with a score of 79-50 securing the South Coast Conference title.
The Wareham boys varsity basketball team will also be headed to the playoffs. The Vikings too beat Greater New Bedford Regional VocTech on Monday, 74-59. On Friday, the team's win over Case, 78-50, secured them the South Coast Conference title they will share with Dighton-Rehoboth.
