Historic journal to be discussed by Wareham Historical Society

Jun 9, 2015

The Wareham Historical Society will put on a presentation of “The Tremont Nail Journal" on June 15.

The journal, kept by Edward Bartholomew in the latter part of the 19th century through the mid-20th century, will be read by Mack Phinney, of the Wareham Historical Commission. The journal presents snapshots of the iron industry in Wareham, as well as the history of Wareham itself. The society will use a digital format of the journal on a projector to see what kinds of stories can be found through interpretation and discussion.

The program will be held in the Old Methodist Meeting house at 495 Main St. at 7 p.m. on June 15. Admission for members is free. Non-members pay $2. Refreshments will be served following the program. For more information, call Historical Society President Angela Dunham at 508-295-8578.
