Jack E. Stinson, 82

Jack E. Stinson, 82, 0f Wareham, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2021, in the Sippican Health Care Center in Marion. He was the son of the late Harry and Rae (Gould) Stinson. 

Jack was born in New Bedford and lived in Wareham for most of his life. He graduated from Wareham High School in 1957. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from West Virginia Wesleyan University and also held a Master’s Degree in Education.

Jack lived a full and varied life, residing in Florida for many years before returning to Wareham. He worked as an English and Social Studies teacher at the Wareham High School, and coached the High School tennis team for many years before retiring.

He was a member of the Wareham High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

He enjoyed sports and was an avid Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, Bruins, and tennis fan.

Survivors include his sister, Valerie Young of Wareham, a nephew, Brian J. Young of Wareham, a niece, Amy E. Young of Chelmsford, MA, his great nephew and nieces, Sofie, Anna and George Young. He was the brother of the late Barry F. Stinson.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 on Monday, November 1, 2021, at Agawam Cemetery, Wareham. Relatives and friends are invited.
