Jeanne Neale, 89

Jeanne F. (Kenney) Neale, 89, of Wareham, died on Oct. 30 in Tobey Hospital. She was the widow of the late Richard E. Neale and the daughter of the late Edward J. and Ann (Feeney) Kenney.

She was born in Boston and lived in Jamaica Plain before moving to Wareham 44 years ago. She graduated from Perkins School for the Blind, Regis College, Boston University and the University of Massachusetts.

Mrs. Neale was Editor and Chief of Our Special Magazine in Boston for 20 years before retiring. Previously she worked as a rehabilitation teacher for the blind.

She was an active member of the Wareham Historical Society.

Survivors include her son Richard E. “Rick” Neale and his wife, Christina of Shelbyville, Michigan; a brother, Paul Kenney of Quincy; 3 grandchildren, Braley, Samantha and Leah Neale.

Her graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
