John E. 'Jack' Reed, 84

John E. “Jack” Reed, 84, of Cumberland, RI, formerly of Wareham, died May 23, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. He was the husband of the late Margaret J. (Bell) Reed.

Born in Wareham, he was the son of the late William H. & Margaret (Maxim) Reed. A longtime resident of Wareham, Mr. Reed moved to Florida in 1996 and enjoyed his summers in the Pinewood Way Campground in So. Carver for the past 12 years.

Mr. Reed was employed for United Parcel Service for 40 years. He began as a truck driver and retired as customer service manager. Mr. Reed was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Korean conflict. He was also a member of the Wareham Lodge of Elks #1548.

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy E. Reed of Cumberland, RI. Mr. Reed was predeceased by his daughter, Dr. Susan J. Reed; and his brothers, William, Richard, Robert, and Bernard Reed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on May 30 at St. Patrick’s Church, High Street, Wareham at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Agawam Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours have been omitted.
