John James Reardon, Jr., 94
John James Reardon, Jr., 94, of Lake Worth, Fla., formerly of Wareham, died Dec. 14, 2013. He was the husband of the late Agnes E. (Barry) Reardon and the son of the late John J. Riordon, Sr. and Bridget (Cahill) Riordon.
He was born in Boston and lived in Abington, Yarmouth and Wareham for many years before moving to Lake Worth in 2006.
Reardon was a WWII Navy Veteran and he also served in the Merchant Marines and the Civilian Conservation Corps.
Reardon owned and operated Proper Fence in Abington and Done Rite Fence in Wareham. He was a member of local 7 Ironworkers in Boston. He also worked as a Real Estate Agent.
He was a lifetime member of the Hyannis VFW Post 2578. He enjoyed boating with his captain’s license and reading western books.
Mr. Reardon was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham.
Survivors include his sons, Robert Reardon of Dennis, Dennis Reardon of Quincy, John J. Reardon, III of Wareham and Stephen J. Reardon of Orlando, Fla.; his daughter, Maureen Reardon of W. Palm Beach, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren. He was the father of the late Daniel T. Reardon and brother of the late Francis Riordon, Thomas Riordon Nora Kakles and Ann Connolly.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17 at St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Burial will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours have been omitted.
