John L. Giuffre, 72, baker, enjoyed family

John L. Giuffre, 72, of Buzzards Bay died Sept. 23, at Tobey Hospital, unexpectedly. He was the husband of Judith A. (Butler) Giuffre.

Born in Waltham, Mr. Giuffre was the son of the late Leo & Concetta (Velardo) Giuffre. Raised in Watertown, he moved to Onset in 1994. Mr. Giuffre was master baker for Creative Baking in Hyannis. He also was employed as a van driver for Habilitation Assistance Corp. in Pocasset.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting casinos.

Survivors include his wife; his children, Anthony J. Giuffre of Raynham, Connie Stone of Bourne, Michael J. Giuffre of W. Warwick, RI, and John L. Giuffre, Jr. of Onset; his sister, Esther Grassia of Onset, and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, the late Frances Cosentino.

His funeral will be Friday, Sept. 28, from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham, at 9 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, Onset at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
