Joseph P. Kenney, 59: A Life of Family and Sunday Dinners

Joseph P. Kenney, a local carpenter, passed away unexpectedly on June 10, 2024, at the age of 59. Born in Boston, MA, he was the cherished son of Joanne Greims and Joseph T. Kenney.

Joe’s enjoyments in life extended beyond his work. Joe found happiness on the hockey rink, at the beach, and out boating. The shooting range was a place where he honed his skills, but it was his time spent in karate classes with his grandson that truly lit up his days. His time spent cooking with Julie and trips to Chicago to visit his daughter/granddaughter were always filled with lots of walking and fun.

Joe’s legacy lives on through his children, Tara Kenney of Chicago, Derek Kenney of Buzzards Bay, and Julie Kenney of West Bridgewater. He was the proud grandfather of Gavin, Mila, and Adrian, whose lives he touched deeply. His sisters, Kathy Hughes of Holbrook and Corrine Karch of East Bridgewater, his estranged wife of 18 years Sandy Cormier of Wareham along with many other loving relatives, friends, employees, and customers, will remember Joe fondly for his craftsmanship and humor.

To celebrate Joe’s life, a remembrance gathering will be held at the FO Eagles, 140 Cohasset Rd, Buzzards Bay, on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 1 PM.

 

Joe Kenney will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to reside, with all who knew him.
