Joseph “Max” Mendes passed away suddenly on February 1, 2023, after a brief battle with illness at the age of 88.

Joe was born to Alfred and Mary Mendes of Wareham, Ma on August 13, 1934. Brother to Junior (nee Alfred) and Sister (nee Mary).

He would go on to graduate high school, and become a US Army Veteran, college graduate, artist, teacher, and disabilities advocate, although his greatest accomplishment was as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Max is survived by his loving wife Augustina of Mashpee, daughter Robin, son Keith, daughter Maxine, son Joseph, godson Peter, and grandchildren; Tiffany, Kayla, Kyle, Brynn, and great-grandson Quentin. As well as, the great many nieces and nephews in our large and loving family. Gone but not forgotten, missed but always remembered; to live in the hearts of those you loved is to never die.

Joe will be honored and remembered in a Celebration of Life reception on Saturday June 3, 2023 from 1-3 pm at Chapman Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Rd, Marstons Mills, MA.
