June E. (Alexander) Lanza, 96

June E. (Alexander) Lanza, 96, a lifelong resident of Onset, died peacefully at home on March 16th. Born February 26th, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Leslie Alexander and Rachel (Babbidge) Alexander. She was predeceased by her husband Essio J. Lanza with whom she shared 73 years of marriage.

Mrs. Lanza is survived by her sister Rosalie Simmons of Harmony, NC, her sons Mark Lanza and his wife Mary-Elizabeth of Sudbury, Jeffrey Lanza of Brockton, Philip Lanza and his wife Patricia of Onset, and her daughters Faye Lanza of Taunton, and Gina Coates and her husband Gregory of Taunton.

She is also survived by six grandchildren, Sabrina O’Connell and her husband Caley of Nashua, NH, Eric Lanza of Plymouth, Marie Lanza and her companion Ethan Gould of Quincy, Nicholas Lanza of Sudbury, Khristie Wilkins and her husband Christopher of South Hamilton, and Lynn Lanza and her husband John Camara of Fall River, six great- grandchildren, Vanessa, Christina, and Zachary O’Connell, Quentin and Laynee Wilkins, and Leighton Camara, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brothers Howard, Eugene, and Philip Alexander, and her sisters Marjorie Lake, Gloria Hamblin, Mary Semple, and Kathleen Humble. She was also predeceased by her son David Lanza and her granddaughter Leia Lanza.

June attended Wareham schools and was a graduate of the Cape Cod Hospital School of Practical Nursing, Class of 1954. She was a longtime member of the Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene in Wareham. June led a life of service dedicated to others. Her faith and trust in God are what sustained her during the difficult times throughout her long life.  She enjoyed reading, nature, walks on the beach, and her grandcat Cassie. June cherished time spent with her family, especially her great-grandaughter Leighton’s weekly visits.

June will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her funeral and burial will be private. A memorial service will be held at a future date.
