Kay Gomes, 67, of West Wareham, peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Friday, May 28, 2021. Kay was the wife of the late Jeffrey Gomes, who passed away in November of 2020. She was the daughter of the late Peter D. Fernandes, Sr. and Corinne (Sousa) Fernandes, and loving stepdaughter of the late Kathy (Palladino) Fernandes.

Kay graduated from Wareham High School in 1971 and later Northeastern University. A recent retiree from Eversource Co. as a Human Resources Administrator, Kay was able to spend her twilight years focusing on the things she loved most. Hosting ritual Sunday dinners surrounded by her closest family and birthday gatherings brought her the most joy.  A night of bingo, daily scratchies and weekend trips to Foxwoods were her favorite pastimes. As a lover of the arts, she attended countless concerts, musicals and shows. Kay was an experienced traveler as well. She truly loved to vacation with her husband Jeff or with her family.

Kay was the loving mother of David Gomes of Carver, Brandy and Dr. Nilton Medina of Hanover, Taylor Gomes and Brandon Gomes of Carver and Kristen Alves of Wareham. She was the sister of Corinne Fernandes and her life-long partner Joseph Silvia, Peter D. Fernandes Jr. all of West Wareham and  Carolyn Fernandes-Hall and her wife Joelle Fernandes-Hall of Atlanta, GA.  She was the proud and loving grandmother of Dana, Kaylee, Darren, Kingston, Nilton and Kairo. She was also survived by many loving relatives and friends.

A Celebration of life will be held at a later date.
