WAREHAM – Kelly Ann Lopes, 56, of Buzzards Bay, passed away April 21, 2023, at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. She was the daughter of the late Eugene M. Lopes, Sr., and Theresa M. (Fillippini) Crump.

She was born in Wareham and primarily lived in Onset, Plymouth, and Wareham. She graduated from Wareham High School and attended Cape Cod Community College.

Kelly worked retail and served as a taxi dispatcher through much of her working career.

Kelly, a skilled typist, enjoyed writing and recently published her first children’s book, Ann Meets Mrs. Beasley. Kelly also enjoyed crafting and making clothing for Mrs. Beasley, her prized doll who appears as one of the main characters in her stories. Mrs. Beasley will miss Kelly but is surely grateful for the adventures they shared together.

Kelly, with her quick wit, big personality, large heart, and sometimes silly demeanor, made friends everywhere she went and will be missed by all those she touched.

Kelly’s survivors include her sons, David McCusker of Connecticut, and Rien McCusker of New Bedford, her two2 sisters, Theresa Lopes Johnson of Virginia, and KathrenBaptista of Wareham, and her three grandchildren, Cullen, Ryder, and Riley McCusker.  She was the sister of the late Eugene Lopes, Jr.
