Jul 30, 2018
The Onset Beach Association’s 4th annual Sand Castle Day provided some fun in the sun on Sunday, July 29, at Onset Beach.
There were 43 entries in the contest, which was judged by Rodney Johnson, better known as “Mr. Sandman.” On most weekends in the summer Johnson creates his own elaborate sand creations near the pier.
Small prizes were given out to the top three entries in the contest. The event drew families from Wareham and several surrounding towns including East Bridgewater and Taunton.
The top three winners were: first place; Cassidy Miller, 15, Taunton; second place; Ava, 11, and Will, 6, Regan, Onset; third place, Philip Heath, 8, Wareham.
