Kids flock to Christmas party at Onset VFW

Dec 7, 2014

Hundreds of children filled the Onset VFW Hall with laughter and cheer Saturday afternoon in anticipation of Santa at the annual VFW Children's Christmas Party.

"We had a very good turnout this year," said Michelle Fournier of the Children's Christmas Committee.

The party featured free food, a magic show, face painting, coloring for kids and of course, a visit from Santa.

The Committee holds a steak fundraiser in July to fund the Christmas party, which has been held for the past 15 years according to Fournier.

Buster Costa, also with the Christmas Committee, said volunteers at the party helped serve over 30 boxes of pizza from Charlie's Place, 240 cupcakes and hundreds of juice boxes to kids.
