Kids get a chance to explore nature with conservation groups next month
Now that spring has finally sprung, kids will have the chance to explore the outdoors in Wareham with the Buzzards Bay Coalition’s free Itty Bitty Bay Explorers program this April.
Itty Bitty Bay Explorers is a series of four free, one-hour outings on Wednesday mornings in April co-hosted by the Buzzards Bay Coalition and the Wareham Land Trust.
Through games, stories, and hands-on activities, the whole family will learn about Buzzards Bay’s animals, plants, and habitats.
The Buzzards Bay Coalition recommends Itty Bitty Bay Explorers for families with young children. Attending all four programs is encouraged by the Coalition, but not required. During outdoor exploration days near the water, families should dress to get wet and sandy/muddy.
The explorations will be held on the following dates and locations from 10 to 11 a.m.:
April 1: "Introduction to Exploration" at the Wareham Land Trust, 219 Main St., Wareham.
April 8: “Forest Exploration" at The Trustees of Reservations Lyman Reserve, Red Brook Road, Plymouth.
April 15: "Salt Marsh Discovery" at Swifts Neck Beach, Roby Street, Wareham.
April 22: "Beach Exploration” at Little Harbor Beach, end of Little Harbor Road, Wareham.
Registration is required for all Bay Adventures. To RSVP, email bayadventures@savebuzzardsbay.org or call (508) 999-6363 ext. 219.
This program is part of the Coalition’s Bay Adventures series – programs designed for explorers of all ages to get outside and discover Buzzards Bay. To learn more about all upcoming Bay Adventures, visit www.savebuzzardsbay.org/bayadventures.
