Kim L. Rufo, 58

Kim L. Rufo, 58, of West Wareham died May 19 at St. Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford with her loving family at her bedside. She was the wife of Orazio P. “Ray” Rufo and the daughter of the late Manuel E. and Eleanor “Nan” (Fernandes) Correia.

She was born in Wareham and lived there all of her life.

She graduated from Wareham High School in 1972 and later from Bentley College where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and finance.

Mrs. Rufo worked as a director for Commonwealth of Mass. Department of Employment and Training in Boston for many years before retiring due to her illness.

She loved her family and friends, cooking, shopping, gardening, and travel. She was a true caregiver.

Survivors include her widower, Orazio P. “Ray” Rufo of Acushnet; 2 sons, Ryan Correia and Devon Rufo both of Wareham; 2 brothers, Darrell M. Correia and Leslie Correia both of West Wareham; 2 grandchildren, Raegan and Kendall; several nephews and nieces. Another brother, Darrell P. Correia predeceased her.

Her funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, in the First Congregational Church, 11 Gibbs Ave., Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.

Visiting hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham.
