The last day to register to vote is Wednesday, March 16
The last day to register to vote for the upcoming Town Election and Town Meeting is set for Wednesday, March 16, until 8:00 p.m. This would also include any resident answering the census and indicating their desire to be registered or desiring to change their political party. Filling out a census form does not register one to vote or change voter information. The Town Clerk's office is open on March 16, 2011 for the express purpose of registering voters.
Anyone needing to vote absentee, i.e. absent from town due to work, school or illness, should submit an application to the Town Clerk's Office at 54 Marion Road, Wareham, Massachusetts 02571, as soon as is possible. Voters have up until 12 noon, on Tuesday, April 4, to apply for an absentee ballot. Please keep in mind that if a voter desires to vote at home, they cannot hand carry the ballot, the ballot must be mailed to the voters address. The only other alternative is to vote here at the Town Clerk's Office. Once the office receives the absentee ballots, samples will be available to the public before voting.
