Lemonade stand pours support for children’s hospital

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

Or, in this case, make a lemonade stand to raise money for Boston Children’s Hospital.

10-year-old Victoria and 8-year-old Cole McIntosh, as well as neighbor Layla Ramos, 8, decided to set up a lemonade stand on a hot summer Friday, Aug. 4 at Glenwood Circle.

“We know that kids are sick, so we were like, ‘Why don’t we give them money and help them?’” explained Victoria.

After posting about the stand on Facebook, more visitors and donations came in.

The trio was visited by a garbage truck, a tractor-trailer truck, construction workers and many neighbors.

The group raised $77 from the lemonade stand, and through additional donations from neighbors, grandparents and local firefighters, the total is now $200.

“We plan to do it at least a couple more times before the end of the summer,” said Jamie McIntosh, father of Victoria and Cole.

Cole added he wants “people from the children’s hospital to get better and go back home to have time with their families.”
