Linda Akins, 69
Linda (Borsari) Akins, 69, of West Wareham, died November 6, 2010 at home while surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Charles J. Akins and the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Lydia M. (Cattabriga) Borsari.
She was born in Wareham and lived there all of her life.
Mrs. Akins worked as a switchboard operator for Reed’s Answering Service in Wareham for many years.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church in West Wareham.
She loved being surrounded by her family and taking care of her grandchildren. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed cooking, the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Deborah Maxim and her husband Nathan, of West Wareham, Deirdre Halpin and her husband Robert, of West Wareham; two sons, David Akins and his wife Carmel, of Quincy, IL, and Dennis Akins and his wife Deborah Gayoski, of Duxbury; eight grandchildren, Aaron Akins, Leah Thomas, Christian Akins, Jacob Akins, Isaiah Akins, Jilia August, Alannah Akins and Timothy Halpin; three great-grandchildren, Zechariah Akins, Noah Thomas and Alivia Akins; and a niece, Aimee Alejandro. She was the sister of the late Anne Borsari Brooks.
Her funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy., Wareham, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Church, Gault Rd., West Wareham. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
