Lindsey's and Vikings team up to collect toys
Every year Lindsey’s Family Restaurant hosts a free lunch for the Wareham Vikings football team to gear up for their big Thanksgiving Day game.
It has become a tradition for the team to thank Lindsey’s for their generosity by “paying it forward” and helping others in need. In addition to donating toys at their Lindsey’s lunch, the team plans to collect toys at the gates of their Thanksgiving Day home game against Bourne High School. The game starts at 10 a.m. at Spillane Field.
Coach Dan Nault’s Vikings are encouraging people who attend the game to bring new, unwrapped toys to be collected at the gates. As an added incentive, each person that donates at the gate will receive a ticket for a raffle at half time. Lindsey’s General Manager, Mary Labonte will be awarding the raffle winner a $100 gift certificate to Lindsey’s.
If you aren’t able to attend the football game, you will still have an opportunity to support the toy drive.
People interested in helping can drop off toys at Lindsey’s until Friday, December 10th. All toys will be distributed by the Dick Melloni Youth Foundation to Wareham and the surrounding areas.
