Loans not a solution for Main Street businesses

Jul 2, 2012

To the Editor:

Though I am not a business owner on Main Street, I am insulted and shocked at the suggestion of a loan to accommodate these businesses for losses during Main Street construction.

The loss of business to these owners should have been considered and included in the grant application from day one.

This town has turned into a dictatorship with disregard for homeowners' financial hardships with the sewer betterments, and now with this fiasco on Main Street.

I have not heard one positive remark about this project.

What happened to democracy?

I realize that I am a "newbie" in Wareham (only lived here 44 years), but I have seen this town go from really bad to really worse.
