Lori DeCosta, 47

Lori DeCosta, 47, of Swansea, formerly of Dartmouth and Wareham, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday October 1, 2020.

Born in Taunton, she was raised in Dartmouth and lived in Wareham for many years before moving to Swansea two years ago.  She was a graduate of Dartmouth High School.  

Lori had formerly been employed by Stop and Shop, McDonald’s, Burger King, and Subway. She had attended the Gateway Day Program in Wareham for 12 years.  She had also been the first client of M.O.Life in Fairhaven, a job coaching support agency for people with disabilities.

She had been active in the Special Olympics.  She enjoyed swimming, bowling, camping, singing, dancing, and playing Bingo.

She is survived by her parents, Wayne and Joanne (DeCosta) Farias; her siblings, Dejay, Tyler, Leah, Tessa, Aydan, Lyla, and Gabe; her grandparents, Lorraine DeCosta and Pat and Sonny Farias; her aunts, uncles, and cousins; her extended family, John and Karen (Reilly) Kennedy and their children, Wanda, Jayson, Raymond, Katlyn, and Brian with whom she resided for many years; the entire extended Reilly family including her Godmother, Coleen Reilly; and her LifeStream family.

She was predeceased by her sister Kaylee, and her grandfather, Richard DeCosta.

Her visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8, 5-6 p.m. at the Christian Fellowship Center, 822 Church St., New Bedford followed by her Funeral Service at 6 p.m.
