WAREHAM – Louise Reed, 94, of Wareham, died peacefully, surrounded by her children, Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Nemasket Healthcare Center in Middleboro. She was the loving wife of the late Robert A. Reed.

Born in Wareham, she was the daughter of the late Edmund W. and Norma L. (Malaguti) Fraser. A lifelong resident of Wareham, she graduated from Wareham High School, Class of 1947. In 1987 she received her bachelor’s degree from SMU in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. She worked as a telephone operator and as a customer service representative for The National Bank of Wareham. Louise was a talented seamstress and also enjoyed knitting, painting, baking, and travelling. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her six grandchildren. She loved that her chocolate birthday cakes, and her cookies were their favorites.

Mrs. Reed was a lifelong communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Wareham and a member of St. Patrick’s Circle.

She is survived by her children, Robert A. Reed, Jr. of Wareham, Patricia Nelson of Buzzards Bay, and Debora Bacchiocchi and Michael W. Reed both of Rochester. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Louise was predeceased by her much loved grandson, Jonathan Nelson of Bourne.

Her wake will be at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 4 – 7 PM. Funeral will be from the funeral home on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham.
