Mabel Franklin

Mabel Franklin passed away at Cape Cod Hospital on January 21.

Born in Marion, she was the daughter of the late William and Jeanne Youngson. She was predeceased by her brother, William, and sisters, Ina, Catherine, Jessie, and Lucille. The wife of the late Paul Franklin Sr., she is survived by her daughter Cynthia Furtado and her husband Robert of Harwich, a son, Paul Franklin Jr. and his wife, Ruth, of Huntersville, NC; three granddaughters, Jo-Anne Gibbs and her husband Thomas of Marion, Heidi Franklin of Plymouth, and Heather Franklin of Huntersville, NC. She has two great-granddaughters, Sarah and Shannon Gibbs of Marion, and several nieces and nephews.

Mabel lived all her life in Marion and Wareham. She had a great sense of humor. She enjoyed being with family and friends and watching the Red Sox. She loved traveling the countryside with Paul.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Epoch of Harwich for the love and care she received there and Cape Cod Hospital for the gentle and comforting care they showed Mabel and her family.

Her funeral service will be Tuesday, January 24 at the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway (Rt. 28) Wareham at 1 p.m. Friends and relatives may visit from 12 to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be immediately following the service in the National Cemetery in Bourne, where she will join her late husband.
