Man arrested for allegedly stealing copper

Two men allegedly stole copper from a house early Tuesday morning, according to the Wareham Police Department.

The police said they got a call to 13 Pine Lake Drive at 4 a.m. Upon arrival, the two men fled into the surrounding woods, after which a search of the area was conducted by the responding officers. Officer Christopher Corner found Allen Parsons, 47, of Sagamore Beach, hiding in the woods a short distance from the home. Police said officers also found some of the allegedly stolen copper in the woods.

Parsons was charged with larceny under $250, trespassing, and resisting arrest. Parsons was also arrested for an outstanding warrant on past charges of assault and battery on a police officer, and resisting arrest.
