Man arrested for operating under the influence on Saturday morning

Wareham Police arrested a man for operating under the influence at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13.

After receiving a call about someone driving erratically on Marion Road near Viking Drive, police responded and observed the car pull down Viking Drive and park near the track.

As Officer Calub Larue pulled into the lot, the driver crashed into the guardrail and attempt to leave, but Larue blocked him in.

Officer Robert McLain and Sergeant Herb Noble arrived and assisted Larue in an investigation. They found suspected heroin and numerous pills in the vehicle, and found the driver appeared to be impared.

Jonathan Boucher-Szwedko, 25, of Wareham was placed under arrest and charged with operating under the influence of drugs, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a class A drug, and two counts of possession of a class E drug.
