WAREHAM – Manuel F. Spencer, 93, of Wareham, died Friday, May 9, 2025 at Tobey Hospital in Wareham. He was the husband of the late Shirley M. (Silva) Spencer.

Born in Fall River on May 11, 1931, he was the son of the late Mary (Lima Medeiros) and Joseph Spencer. Mr. Spencer lived in Fall River until he joined the U.S. Navy in 1948. He served during the Korean conflict as fireman onboard the U.S.S. Ware (DD-865). After his military service, Mr. Spencer returned to Fall River, then eventually to Wareham and married his wife, Shirley. He worked as a general contractor.

Survivors include his children, Dawn Marie Marshall of Cohoes, NY, Jeffrey J. Spencer and his wife Coleen of Wareham, Teri Ann Spencer of New Bedford, and Pamela Jean Spencer of Kissimmee, FL; his sisters, Carol Almeida of Rockville, MD and Virginia Stevens of Fairhaven; his grandchildren, David Marshall, Dana Stewart, Joel Andrews, Chelsea Seaver, Alek Andrews and Bryce Spencer-Jones; his great grandchildren, Kiera Marshall, Thomas Marshall, Sierra Andrews and Cleopatra Santiago; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, the late Fermino Spencer and Edward Spencer, and his sister, the late Adeline Andrade.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at St. Patrick's Church, 94 High St., Wareham at 11:00 AM. Please arrive at the church by 10:45 AM. Interment will follow in Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours have been omitted.
