Marcia Ann (Williams) Griffin

Mar 24, 2015

Marcia Ann (Williams) Griffin passed away March 21 after a valiant battle against heart disease. She is survived by her children Mark and Marcia.

Marcia was born November 10, 1932 to Robert D. and Ingrid W. (Carlson) Williams. She grew up in Carver during the depression and often remembered receiving oranges for Christmas, which was a big treat for her. Marcia graduated from Plymouth High School and later earned an Associate Degree from Cape Cod Community College.

Marcia raised her children in Guilford, Connecticut, where she was a Deaconess at the First Congregational Church of Guilford. Upon returning to Carver, she began her banking career, retiring in 1992. She enjoyed extensive travel though out the United States and Canada and in 1976 she accompanied her mother to Finland, Ingrid's homeland. Marcia also enjoyed reading, animals (especially her cats) and discovering new restaurants. She took pleasure in serving on the Carver Old Home Day Committee as treasurer and working as a precinct clerk on election days.

Marcia is survived by her brothers: Pete, Curt, Henry and Tim, her sister Jane, many nephews and nieces and their children. She is predeceased by her brothers George, Ted and Bruce.

A graveside service will be held later this spring at the Union Cemetery.
