Margaret M. "Peg" Munroe, 86
Margaret M. "Peg" Munroe, a longtime resident of Wareham, passed away Oct. 26 at Nemasket Nursing Care Center in Middleboro after a long illness. She was 86.
Born and raised in Brighton, the daughter of the late Patrick & Nellie (O’Donnell) Largey, Mrs. Munroe had also lived in Hyde Park and Quincy prior to moving to Wareham many years ago.
Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Munroe was a co-founder of National Check Protection while living in Quincy.
She was the beloved wife of the late George A. Munroe who passed away in September 2010. Mrs. Munroe was the step-mother of George’s children, Cass Ladd of Marshfield, Robert Munroe and his late wife Nancy of Wrentham, Paul Munroe and his wife Pauline of Hingham, John Munroe of California, and the late Scott Munroe of Carlisle. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as her dear cousin Charlotte Reilly of Watertown and her dear friends Heidi, John, and Erica Harkins.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High Street, Wareham on Saturday at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit at the church from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Interment at Massachusetts National Cemetery will take place next week.
