Marine Gabrey, 97
Marine R. (Fortin) Gabrey, 97, of Middleboro, formerly of Wareham, died Sept. 4 in the Hannah B. G. Shaw Home in Middleboro. She was the widow of the late Frank L. Gabrey and the daughter of the late J. Gideon and Marie (Beaulieu) Fortin.
She was born in Middleboro and lived in Wareham for 55 years.
Mrs. Gabrey worked as a stitcher in a shoe factory in Middleboro for 18 years. She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Church, Wareham.
Survivors include her children, Alan A. Gabrey and his partner, Nancy Corbett of Plymouth, M. Louise Taylor and her husband McCoy of Port Oreford, Oregon, Josette F. Nelson, Regina M. Smith and her husband Richard of West Wareham; a brother, Marcel Fortin of Middleboro; three sisters, Odet Rudolph of Middleboro, Theresa Rogers of Wareham and Ann Chilcot of Middleboro; a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Gabrey of South Middleboro; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Henri P. Gabrey and John A. Gabrey and sister of the late Aime Fortin, F. Raymond Fortin, and Herve Fortin and mother-in-law of the late Rich Nelson.
Her funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9 from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Highway, Wareham followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 82 High St., Wareham. Visiting hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
