Mary Grace Flagg, 73
Mary Grace Flagg, 73, of Buzzards Bay, died March 23, at Tobey Hospital in Wareham after a long illness. She was the wife of R. Edward Flagg.
Born in Stoughton, Grace was the daughter of the late Anna Louise (Keller) and Thomas James Farley. She moved to the Wareham area 37 years ago.
While living in East Bridgewater, Grace, known as “Lady Santa” established the Brockton Santaland organization that provided toys to needy children during the holidays. She loved gardening, fishing, and woodworking. Grace truly cared about people. She was always glad to see her friends and was engaging to everyone she met.
Survivors include her husband, Ed; her daughters, Sheila Laurence and her husband Michael of Hopkinton, Beverly O’Reilly and her husband Christopher of Peachtree City, Georgia and Debbie Mayo and her husband Mark of Buzzards Bay; her grandchildren, Steph, Josh, Erika, Andi, Bekah, Janna, Matthew, Christa, Christian, Bella and Ashley, and her sister, Carolyn Anderson of Randolph. She was predeceased by her brother, the late Thomas J. Farley, Jr.
A memorial service celebrating Grace’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 29, at Grace Lighthouse Fellowship, 3065 Cranberry Highway, East Wareham at 6 p.m. A reception will follow at the church at 7 p.m. Graveside services in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton will be private.
