Citing the “increasing seriousness” of the covid-19 Delta variant and “changes to the CDC guidance,” the Town of Wareham will require people to wear masks inside town buildings starting next week. 

“As of Monday, August 9, 2021, all members of the public entering Town Buildings are required to wear masks regardless of their vaccination status,” Patrick MacDonald, the director of public health, said in a statement. 

The mask mandate follows five straight weeks of increasing numbers of covid-19 cases in Wareham, according to data from the state.
