Maureen A. (Morrison) Doherty, 58 of Wareham, died January 26 at Tobey Hospital, Wareham. She was the wife of James J. Doherty Jr. and the daughter of the late Frank and Edith (Cody) Morrison.

Maureen was born in Boston and lived in Wareham for 32 years. She graduated from North Quincy High School and attended Cape Cod Community College.

Maureen worked as a Phlebotomist in Wareham for many years and recently Quest Diagnostics in Falmouth.

Maureen and her husband Jim of 40 years loved to travel; Aruba, Florida, and Las Vegas were some of their favorite locations. Maureen's true love was being with her family and her five grandchildren, whom she adored. She loved visiting them on the weekends to watch their sports and activities. Maureen also loved to cook and host parties for her family and her extended family that lovingly referred to her as "Moe D." She opened her home to all and wanted to make sure everyone was happy and having a great time. She was also huge New England Patriot's fan, watching every game with her husband and family. She even had the opportunity to meet some of them in Hawaii at the Pro-bowl after they won their second Super Bowl.

Survivors include her husband, James Doherty, Jr of Wareham; her children James J. Doherty III and his wife Donna of Middleboro, Jennifer Risitano and her husband Andrew of Quincy, Melissa McLaughlin and her husband Eric of Wareham, Kristopher Doherty and his wife Katie of Braintree; her grandchildren, Elle, Colin, Jack, Sofia and Drew; Her brothers and sisters, Frank Morrison, Dennis Morrison, Colleen Askin, Kevin Morrison and Kathleen Shea; brother in-law John Doherty; and many nieces and nephews. Maureen was the sister of the late Jake Morrison and daughter in-law of the late James and Betty Doherty.

Services were held at an earlier date.
