May activities at the Council on Aging

Although the Council on Aging is still closed due to the pandemic, several outdoor events are planned for May, weather permitting. The Council on Aging hopes to reopen the Center soon.

Coffee and Conversation takes place each Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the rear of the Multi-Service Center. Get reacquainted or meet new friends.

May Garden Therapy do-it-yourself kits, created and donated by the Wareham Garden Club, will be available for pickup at the front of the Wareham Free Library on May 14 between 10 and 11 a.m. The number of kits is limited, so call to reserve ASAP at 508-291-3130.

Hip Hop Dance—Chair Exercise for Seniors will be held on May 19 at 1 p.m. Travel through time and space on the Soul Train and chair dance to hip hop music. This program is made possible through a grant by the Wareham Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. Registration is required and space is limited. Call 508-291-3130 to reserve a space.

Outdoor Exercise at the Library: Tai Chi is held every Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Library Courtyard and Chair Yoga with Pam is held every Thursday at 2 p.m. in front of the library, weather permitting.

Grab and Go Box Lunches are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, courtesy of Old Colony Elder Services. Pick up lunches courtesy at the Multi-Service Center handicap ramp between 9 and 9:30 am. Lunches must be reserved at least 3 days ahead of the scheduled delivery date by calling 508-291-3130.
