Mildred Dorothy Laing, 83, of Wareham, died Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River after a brief illness.  She was the wife of the late Philip J. Laing.

Born in Boston, Mrs. Laing was the daughter of the late James H. and Annie Rose (Killion) Volz. She lived there for many years before moving to Wareham in 1972. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her children, Daniel Laing of Freedom, NH, Philip Laing of Boston, John Laing of Freetown, Gerard Laing of Spring Hill, FL, and Donna Laing of Garland, ME. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be from the Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham on Mon., March 16, 2020 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, High St., Wareham at 10 a.m.  Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
