WAREHAM – Nelson C. Pierce, 98, of Wareham, passed away at home on February 8, 2025. He was the husband of the late Priscilla (Meier) Pierce and the son of the late Alton H. and Ella F. (Dexter) Pierce.

He was born in Rochester and lived in Wareham for many years. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Pierce worked as a firefighter at Otis Air Force Base for over 20 years before retiring. After retiring, he worked as a dispatcher at Otis AFB.

He enjoyed gardening and blueberry farming.

Survivors include his children, Linda S. Monast and her husband Roger of Wareham, Kevin N. Pierce and his wife Edith of Wareham, Mark W. Pierce and his wife, Diane of Wareham, Thomas M. Pierce and his partner Kim of Venice, FL, Robert S. Pierce and his wife, Lynne of Wareham, Eric J. Pierce of Wareham; many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Alton Pierce, Jr., Arthur, Robert, Weldon, Walter, Edward and Lawrence Pierce and Edith Ferioli.

His graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Hillside Cemetery, High St., Rochester.

Visiting hours have been omitted.
