New gas station receives final approval

May 28, 2020

A new gas station across the street from Walmart, next to Tow Road, has been approved by the Zoning Board of Appeals.

The convenience store and gas station will be owned and operated by Nouria, the same company which now runs the gas station near the Police Station.

The footprint of the convenience store has been increased slightly from the original proposal from 5,300 square feet to 5,600 square feet, and the number of fuel pumps has been increased from five to six.

The store will be accessible from both Cranberry Highway and Tow Road, which should mitigate the traffic impact on Cranberry Highway.

The building was redesigned from a more colonial-style building to one with sleek, large windows to echo the design of nearby businesses, including Wendy’s, Aldi, and the new Aspen Dental.

The gas station and convenience store are being built on the site of the former Maxi Gas, which had a distinctive checkerboard facade.
