New library groups offer lessons on yoga, cooking

Mar 19, 2017

The Wareham Free Library, located at 59 Marion Road, will offer a couple of new programs this spring: free yoga instruction and a cooking club. For more information on both, see below.

Sharpen awareness at yoga group

A four-week yoga meditative practice group will be offered at the Wareham Free Library on Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Dates are: April 6, 13, 20 and May 4. The group is free and no sign-up is required.

The group will offer lessons on mind-body techniques to help handle the stress and challenges of everyday life. The instructor will guide the group in breath work, quieting the mind and body, meditation, guided imagery, mindfulness practices and yogic wisdom. Wear comfortable clothes, bring a yoga mat or blanket and a journal. Chairs are available.

Get a taste for cooking at new club

Do you enjoy cooking, experimenting with novel ingredients and perusing new cookbooks? Would you be interested in meeting others with similar interests to choose recipes and plan a potluck to share at the library?

A free Cooking Club will start up soon to meet at the Wareham Free Library; right now it is recruiting additional members. For those interested in joining, contact the club’s organizer Linda Scharf at stoneleafmoon@gmail.com or call the library director at 508-295-2343.
