Six months and three names after a whirlwind of activity hit what had long been Prudential Linn Real Estate, the ribbon was cut last week at Wareham’s Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices on Route 28.
The agency began its metamorphosis last June when the Prudential-affiliated Wareham company was purchased from longtime owner Steven Linn by Maynard-based New England Prime Properties.
Eighteen-office New England Prime initially branded its new Wareham office as New England Prime Properties but was itself on the verge of joining the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices network. One of investor Warren Buffet’s newest ventures, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices now boasts of franchises in 47 states.
Conversion done, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices N. E. Prime President Nancy Quinn and Vice President Randy DeVries joined local manager Robin MacDonald, state Rep. Susan Williams Gifford and a host of well-wishers on Thursday, Dec. 4, to cut the ribbon at Wareham’s Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices office.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices offers agents, buyers and sellers a range of online resources that are “miles ahead of the curve,” said MacDonald, who has been with the Wareham agency in its various incarnations for much of the past 20 years. “It’s the first time in 25 years that something like this has happened in real estate.”
