Nyman family reunites in harmony
It was a family affair at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Sunday afternoon as members of the Nyman family performed in memory of their late father, Daniel, who died in 1999. This was the 10th anniversary of the Memorial Concert, which takes place as part of the Church of the Good Shepherd Concert Series.
The concert seems to grow each year as the family expands. This year, Daniel's granddaughter, six-year-old Yasmine Nyman, performed for the first time. She joined her 12-year-old cousin Hannah in singing a duet accompanied by their cousin Eric on the piano. Leading the concert was Emily Nyman, who performed both original and familiar compositions on the guitar with wife Lynn Berry.
Jean Nyman, Daniel's widow and the organizer of the church's concert series, reported that the concert went very well and was very well attended.
"It was a real family effort," she said. "The performers were all family members, including myself, I guess, as the organizer of the concert series. My son Daniel Nyman Jr. even taped it for WCTV!"
