Occupants, animals rescued from rollover on Route 25 in Wareham
The Wareham Fire Department responded to a vehicle rollover on Friday, Aug. 17, along Route 25 eastbound in which a car was found on its side in the woods.
Assistant Chief John Kelley, Wareham Engine 1 and Onset Rescue 1 all responded to the crash around 12:40 p.m. Two occupants were reportedly trapped inside in the car along with their two cats.
The Wareham Department of Natural Resources was called in to assist along with Wareham Police, Wareham EMS, Massachusetts State Police and Wareham Animal Control.
All companies worked together to remove the two occupants and the cars from the heavily damaged car.
The Wareham Department of Natural Resources stated in a Facebook post that they will be back on the scene Saturday to help the family locate one of their cats which fled from the crash. The cat has yet to be recovered.
The cause of the accident is not known at this time.
