Odorous work to be done at sewer plant next month

Neighbors near the town sewer plant might notice an odor early next month due to a scheduled maintenance project, according to Director of the Water Pollution Control Facility Guy Campinha.

At Tuesday's Selectmen meeting, Campinha said routine maintenance at the plant, which is located off of Sandwich Road on Tony's Lane, will begin on or around Nov. 3 and involve an "odor issue."

He said the project could take a week to 10 days.

"We will make every effort to minimize any potential problems. Your patience and understanding will be greatly appreciated," Campinha wrote in a statement he and other sewer department employees will be delivering to nearby residents.
