One hospitalized after car slams into shed behind 7-Eleven

A car was found rolled over after smashing into a utility shed behind the 7-Eleven on Cranberry Highway, sending one person to the hospital around 4:40 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, according to the Onset Fire Department.
The vehicle caused "some structural damage" to the shed, according to Assistant Chief Howard Anderson. The front of the shed appeared caved in and pushed back several feet from its foundation behind the convenience store.
At the scene around 11 a.m. Monday, what appeared to be vents were ripped out of the ground from their concrete foundation. A sign for gas prices was turned off and gas pumps displayed a "pump down" sign. The 7-Eleven convenience store was still open.
Shattered pieces of car lights were scattered around the grass behind the gas station.
Anderson said he believes the car had one driver, who was transported to St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. The extent of their injuries, if any, is not clear.
Wareham Week is awaiting comment from the Wareham Police Department.
