A vehicle crashed into a utility pole on Cranberry Highway Wednesday morning, damaging the pole and injuring the sole occupant of the vehicle. 

Emergency responders transferred the driver to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.

The Wareham Fire Department closed the road while the vehicle was removed and Eversource repaired the damage to the utility pole. 

The cause of the accident, and the extent of the driver’s injuries, are unknown.

Wareham Police could not be reached for comment.
