Onset Bay Association plans summer of events

Feb 3, 2022

The Onset Bay Association is working on a full slate of events this year — including the return of some favorites that haven’t taken place since before the pandemic began.

Association President Kat Jones spoke to the Select Board on Feb. 1.

“I think the community is itching to get back to some semblance of normalcy with events, but again, we’ll see what happens,” Jones said. “Public safety is paramount, and of course, covid is going to dictate how we move forward.”

Here’s what the group has planned: On March 5, there will be a murder mystery night at Stone Path Malt.

The Easter Egg Hunt will be held in Prospect Park, and the kayak poker run will return.

Summer of Love concerts will be held between June 29 and Aug. 31.

The organizations’ fireworks and blessing of the fleet will be held July 2, with a rain date July 9.

Sandcastle Day and the Kite Fest will return, as will the Chalk Fest and Illumination Night.

The Onset Blues Fest will be held August 6.

“It looks like 2019 all over again, and I hope it is,” said Teitelbaum

“Fingers crossed, we can pull off some events,” Jones said. She said the organization also hopes to be a part of the South Coast Spring Arts fest May 6 through 15, and encouraged people to reach out with ideas. For more, go to www.onsetbay.org.
