The Onset Foursquare Church will host its third annual Trunk or Treat event on Halloween -- Thursday, October 31, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Lopes Field in Onset.

Trunk or Treat is an alternative to traditional door-to-door Halloween activities. Participants decorate car trunks, vans, and trucks and dole out candy to costumed children who visit with their treat bags.

This year's event has expanded to include hayrides and carnival games. Each participant will also be given a hot dog, chips, and a drink.

"Each year, participants have told us how much they appreciate this fun event as it is the all important candy in one location," noted Barbara Sullivan, director of the children's ministry at the church.

Members of the community are invited to add their decorated vehicle to the lineup. Applications are available by calling the church at 508-291-1595.
