A 49 year-old Onset man was arrested by Wareham Police for assault and battery after he was reportedly involved in a fight early Wednesday morning. The man, Andre Silvia, has also been charged with disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.

Police say the incident took place around 12:30 a.m. when officers on the midnight shift responded to a reported fight in progress at the Fan Club, located at 2859 Cranberry Highway.

Officer Calib Larue, who was the first to arrive on scene, said he observed Silvia and another man fighting in the parking lot and ordered them to stop.

Silvia then reportedly rushed a woman attempting to speak to Larue, screaming profanities. Larue ordered Silva to stop once more and ultimately placed him under arrest.

The identities of the woman and the other man involved in the fight were not released.
