Onset Village Music makes a move down Cranberry Highway

Aug 28, 2012

Onset Village Music may be a bit further from Onset after a move down Cranberry Highway into Wareham, but owners Susan and Frank Noonan say the store will forever bear the village's name.

After all, the store's  roots -- and home office -- are in Onset, where the husband and wife team lives.

The store opened in 2004 in Onset Village and moved to Cranberry Highway in East Wareham in 2005.

This month's move got the store off of the one-way portion of Cranberry Highway in East Wareham, which Susan Noonan says often confused customers who don't live in town, and closer to major highways.

"There's much more traffic on this end of town," Susan Noonan noted. "We've very excited to be here."

The new location in the Cranberry Crossing Plaza at 2510 Cranberry Highway has four over-sized lesson rooms for the store's eight private lesson teachers.

Frank Noonan, who plays trumpet and trombone, is one of those teachers. (Susan Noonan, though a music lover, is not one of those teachers. She notes: "I'm a professional audience member!")

In addition to lessons, Onset Village Music offers instrument sales, rentals, and repairs. It is open seven days per week.
