PHOTOS: Car stolen in 2003 discovered in Tihonet Pond

A fisherman boating on Tihonet Pond on Friday, October 5, discovered something puzzling approximately 10 feet below the surface: a vehicle.
The fisherman called Wareham Police, who called in the Wareham Fire Department dive team.
The dive team and the Wareham Harbormaster Department headed out… and, well, firefighter/diver David Wahlstrom probably explained it best.
"That thing's been down there a long time!" he yelled upon returning to shore.
It had been there a long time.
Wareham Police officers ran the license plate that the divers had pulled from the black Isuzu SUV through their computer system.
Lt. Kevin Walsh confirmed: The truck had been stolen out of Taunton back in 2003.
Exactly how long the SUV had been sitting in Tihonet Pond is anyone's guess.
It took workers from a tow company more than three hours to remove the vehicle.
