A group of women and even a few children representing elementsfitness ran approximately 2.62 miles on Saturday in support of the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.
The route took the group from the gym in Wareham Crossing to -- and around -- the town green on Main Street.
The length of the short run was chosen because the length of the marathon is 26.2 miles. The run was part of a larger fundraising effort that the gym is doing, which included a Zumba dance event on Friday.
Money collected will be donated to the Salvation Army's emergency services devision, which is assisting the victims of the bombings, said elements membership director Andrea Tarrant.
"We've got to do our part," Tarrant added.
